It goes without saying that bringing people together can create a greater sense of community. A small towns "heartbeat" usually centers around its retail and service business' such as restaurants and cafe's. The Plantation Coffee Roastery @ 784 Laurel Street, San Carlos, the Pedestrian only block continues to always be a warm and welcome gathering spot for the many regulars and just a great "hang" for anyone looking to sit and enjoy some refreshment. 7 days a week owner Soon Cheong opens the coffee shop early in the morning to a warm and inviting space with some of the best coffee, craft espresso drinks, fresh roasted on site coffee beans, small bites, pastries, an assortment of Marianne's ice cream from Santa Cruz and delicious bagel sandwiches. On a recent afternoon I had an "Affogato", a double espresso over a scoop of ice cream topped if you choose with whipped cream. A truly tasty experience! When you are in the neighborhood be sure to stop in no matter what time of day! You'll be glad you did!

Local coffee shop with lots of seating outdoors and indoors. Inside is due for a renovation but is still cozy if you wanna sit with the friend. They play classical music at a pleasant volume inside. Vanilla latte is always solid and perfectly sweet. I prefer it over the other coffee spots in down town San Carlos (mostly chains). Minimum $5 charge for credit cards. Parking can be hard at peak hours. Nearby to many local businesses and sit down restaurants.

Food was tasty and mate to order, I got the number 5 bagel sandwich and it was absolutely delicious, going to have to come back for another one. Also the caramel macchiato was good, and I feel much better spending the 5/6$ supporting a local business than a chain store! The service was great, and the ambiance was super cozy. I like this place and will be back! PS they roast their own coffee beans!!

I work down the street so I go here for a cup of coffee now and then. I much rather go here and support local business than the other chain stores near by. Every time I come here, I either get a latte or a hot coffee. No complaints from me. I think each cup is good. Sometimes it's a little bitter but I don't mind too much. I have never had a rude encounter there as well. They ask if I need help and then they take my order. I think that's good service to me. I do recommend coming here for a nice mom and pop type of coffee shop.

Amazing place. The coffee shop os very cozy. You can stay indoor or outdoor. But it needs a bit of facelift. This has been one of the favorites within the community. They have Marianne's great ice cream flavors from Santa Cruz. Heaven and Mud Pie using Soy has been my favorites since they're not so sweet. The smoothie is not too sweet as well, I love it. The owner/ woman serving is very accommodating and easy to talk to.
